Update for 3rd Reading of BSD Policy 3247 The Bellevue School Board held a 3rd reading of proposed policy 3247 "Protections Against Inappropriate Isolation and Restraint of Students with IEPs and Section 504 Plans" at their meeting on July 1st. BSD Special Education Study Efforts
The Board of Directors of the BSNPTA recently reviewed the recommendations in the Study of Special Education Services in the BSD (report linked below). We created a method for evaluating the recommendations and creating a prioritization list. The two documents below include a guide to the process created as well as the completed document. It is attached here. FINAL Bellevue_Report__6-18-13 ____________________________________ BSNPTA Special Education Report On June 18, 2013 the BSNPTA Board of Directors provided a report to the BSD Superintendent and Bellevue School Board pertaining to parent concerns and systemic issues raised over the course of the 2012-13 school year. BSNPTA Special Education Report - June 2013 Attachments to the report: SIP Data - Reading SIP Data - Math Discipline Data _____________________________________ On June 19, 2013 representatives of Public Consulting Group (PCG), the organization that conducted the study of the Bellevue School District Special Education Program, provided a summary of their report at a meeting of the BSNPTA membership. Below is a summary of their recommendations. The complete report will be released by BSD in early to mid August.
